The Japanese may actually be the first people to use what we refer to today as sliding closet doors. These doors essentially follow the commonly accepted definition of a door that moves sideways or in an up and down motion. They still serve the same purpose as they did then, to manage space, provide ease of use and highlight or disguise internal or external features of a structure.
Another design is the use of stainless steel to make the cabinets looks sleek and more elegant. Stainless steel requires low maintenance and is cheaper compared with other designs. It is also anti-corrosion and anti-stain. The stainless steel is available in many colors to fit the color of the room.
Custom door designs are available when you shop with the right company. Do you have an architect or designer looking to design a door for you? Are the concepts entirely for you? Whatever the case may be, a high quality company that offers custom door designs will be willing to work with whoever steps forward. Often they will have a consultant of their own where you can work with them one-on-one, through letters and drawings, or directly from plans provided by your architect or designer. Having this personal relationship can ensure that your vision gets through and you get the door that you always hoped for.
