I am driving from Seattle to Anchorage. How is the best way to approach this? My cousin has a little camper that I could pull behind my car….but are more little campers heated? anyway…would it make more sense to borrow the trailer, or stop at hotels from Seattle to Anchorage? Are there gas stations from Seattle to Achorage? How much money and food will I need?

I know it’s illegal.. but I want to know if there is any way they will be able to track me down, and if the ticket will show up when a cop pulls me over in another state. I am assuming that not paying the ticket will result in an arrest warrant.
I know its illegal (as someone said “HIGHLY ILLEGAL” lol) Im not here to get chewed out for thinking about not paying it. Im asking if anyone here knows for a fact how the warrant report system works and at what points specifically It will come up if I don’t pay this ticket. I was driving a rental at the time I got the ticket, so the license plate will not trace back to me. And as someone said “Why would you want to break the law?” or something of that effect. Well, because if I can let a $400 ticket slide, that means that I don’t have to pay the $400. Which means I get to keep the money and spend it on whatever I want. And if the risks arent high enough to be a major problem, Ill go ahead and take the risk. A lot of people have said that it will come up when a cop pulls me over and I just don’t think that is true and I think a lot of people here don’t really know what they are talking about. So if anyone knows for a fact how bad an open warrant in alaska would be, please let me know.
Again people, if you dont know details, dont say anything.
I talked to a Texas police officer and he made it clear that in Texas, police are not notified of out of state traffic warrants because of the sheer volume. For serious crimes, its different. He said that state troopers have better acces than city police (HPD), but that the only way they are likely to come up is if I am taken to jail to have a full background check run on me. I know it’s wrong to not pay, but I want to realistically know what I am up against. Not stupid guesses about police using “lexis-nexis” LOL or their little computer thingy that knows all. The officer that I spoke to was actually a state trooper. And I also found out from him that even if the ticket turns into a warrant, its such a minor offense that the state will usually just accept the payment and clear the warrant by MAIL. Thanks anyways guys.
Sorry one more thing to these two here who have no clue what they are talking about

“The rental company will give up your location and info to the cops if that’s what they need.”

Just because someone rents a car doesnt mean that they will be the only one driving it, I wasnt even on file with the rental company. On top of that, rental records arent probed by police unless its a serious crime. Third, why the heck would they EVER need to look at rental records in such a way when they HAVE MY DRIVERS LICENSE ID AND ADDRESS on file!!

And look, at least two people here have stated that thats definately what the cops would do. I suggest not replying to things you really don’t know about.

I’m thinking about taking an internship in near Anchorage but I’m worried about not having a car, I want to be able to see a lot and I don’t know how hard it would be to get around or get anywhere for that matter without transportation.
